We welcome you to our tour: "Muyil Natura". Experience an encounter with nature and the Mayan culture, as well as an exciting adventure in the jungle.
We will take you to a typical Mayan residence where you will see the whole process of grinding corn and participate in the preparation of one of the basic foods in the Mayan kitchen, the tortilla.
Visit to the archeological site Muyil
This guided visitwill introduce you to one of the biggest archeological sites in the Sian Ka'an reserve. Muyil was one of the most important Mayan trade centers for the exchange of products from Honduras and Yucatan.
On the Canan-Ha trail you will learn about the diversity of the flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest. At the end of the trail you will climb up to the 19 meter high view point. From there you can observe the different types of ecosystems of the reserve: the tropical deciduous forest, the lagoons, savannas, mangroves and the so-calledpeténes (ecological microsystems of isle-shaped flat fields near the sea).
Boat trip to the Muyil and Chunyaxche lagoons
We will tour through the crystal and turquoise lagoons until we reach the Xtlapak ruin where we will float into an ancient Mayan canal built more than a thousand years ago, and we will let the soft current carry us for about 35 minutes enjoying the tranquility and the gentle sound of the wind.
Return by boat
After this pleasant experience of floating for about 800m a boat will be waiting for you to take you back again and you will make your way back to your hotel.
